  • (The) Administrator. A pre-haggared man trying to make a living by treating his charges like cost centers and by treating his bureaucrats like gods. Part of an insiduous Orthodox plot to take over the rehab business.

    So far, I don't like this guy. It appears that he's trying to do a good job, but he doesn't have to satisfy the residents, just the bureaucrats. So he doesn't. It's not as if he were dragged to The Abattoir kicking and screaming. So I have less sympathy for him.

Taking exam P in May 2014 (2nd Time)

Hi all, I sat for exam P in November 2013 for the first time, to see how the exam is structured and how hard is it. I failed that exam, because I didn't study for it enough.

However, I am now more serious about these exams and recently started studying for exam P. I am planning to write it in May 2014. My question is, Is it too tough to pass actuarial exams if you haven't been studying Actuarial Science in College/University. I am an Economics major in University. I have taken Calculus...

The 14th China Actuarial Annual Conference organized by China Association of Actuaries(CAA) was held in Changsha, Hunan Province on September 10-11. The theme of the annual conference is "Seeking the new path for the development of the actuarial profession"

The international actuarial organizations such as the IAA, IFoA(UK), CAS(US), SOA(US), IAAust(Australia), IOAJ(Japan) etc sent delegates to attend the conference.

17th East Asia Actuarial Conference (EAAC) Held

The 17th East Asia Actuarial Conference (EAAC) was held in Singapore on October 15-18, 2013. The theme of the conference was "Redefining Risk, Creating Value".

China Association of Actuaries (CAA) sent a delegation to attend the conference. The CAA joined the EAAC at the beginning of 2013. It was the first time that the CAA had attended the EAAC conference as a member.

A seminar on predictive modeling and its application in motor pricing jointly sponsored by China Association of Actuaries (CAA) and Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) was held in Beijing, China, last Friday, on November 15.
