contradictions and palpitations

When it comes to love, it's never entirely clear where the burden of proof falls. Do I prove myself to you? Do I prove yourself to me? How do we go about it? In action or in words? In prose or in song? Should it be grounded in practicalities and empirical evidence? Or exhalted with fictions and preposterous propositions?

Or should it all be assumed?

The funny thing is, it's a lot easier, anyway, to prove that you are fundamental than to prove that I am fundamental: If I get up from my seat, and walk away, the world keeps on rambling. But if you feather off, my axioms all become false.
