## Found a job outside the industry

Posted 04-29-2009 at 05:24 PM by Marid Audran

Looking back on it, it seems that my studies took a huge hit the moment I started on my second job, a temporary part-time gig. Then, right when that ended, I landed myself a full-time position at a different place altogether. • Work as an individual and as part of a team
• Twelve or more years of industry experience
• Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries

I was in my twenties when that trial took place. It's weird to think that I'm competing for jobs with people who were in grade school then.

I was born and bred in Minnesota. I like the Twins, in part because they so often exceed expectations, as well as the Timberwolves, in part because they so often fail so spectacularly -- it's a little like being a fan of Charlie Brown. I like the Vikings well enough. But the Wild does nothing for me. Perhaps it's the "singular" team nickname, or perhaps it's the red-and-green team colors. In any case, I could use a different NHL team to follow.

The front-runner for my fan...
