do not worry about about your health, or about being shot, or about dying in a car crash. You have time enough to live a meaningful life. A meaningful life does not take time at all. It just takes meaning.

The same goes for the earth at large. do not worry about aliens, or about the sun exploding. progress will happen first. it is unavoidable. we, humanity, will barrel through history until there is no more. no matter how novel or how lazy we each are, civilization will reach the end of whatever end is possible before the universe has time to blink. nor is there any reason to hurry. for just as it's absurd now, to complain about how long the Bronze Age took, it will one day be absurd to complain about how long it took us to invent flying cars.

the only thing that matters, or rather, the only thing that is variable, is how gently we step towards our destination.
