This blog will document my journey towards attaining the ASA designation. I am a career changer. I currently work in engineering project management but want to become an actuary. I am interested in mathematics and its actuarial applications. I have passed the preliminary P and FM exams. My next target is MLC and MFE in May 2011 and C in October 2011. I have previously passed all 3 levels of the CFA program and enjoy investing. As you can probably make out, i have an affinity for exams

Finished survival & life table concepts

Posted 12-30-2010 at 02:45 PM by cat060

Finished survival and life table concepts a few days back. It was a lot of material. I am doing every worked out example, quiz and exercise that the ASM manual has to offer. It is very time consuming. I am making a note of all questions that I have missed in each lesson. These are the problems that I shall be working out first once I complete the entire syllabus. I am also marking some problems for rework which I was able to work out on my own but thought were difficult or explained an important concept. These I will work out once I am done with the 'missed' list. It is going to be a tough 4.5 months with work, family and exams competing for a limited number of awake hours. Let us see how everything shapes up.
