What is your favourite breakfast chain?

Some of these are regional. If you haven't heard of one of these just see the FAQ below.

FAQ:

Spoiler:
Why is my favourite spot not on the list? While I am sure Boca Grande Taqueria in Boston (both locations) is adorable, there aren't enough poll spots.

I don't think that one place is consistent with the others: That's not a question. And I don't care.

What's the worst city for food in America? Columbus, OH.

I haven't heard of one of those! What should I do?? Uninstall the internet.

What if I have a local place that is better than any of these? That's great! Tell us about it. But you aren't special. We all have great local spots.

What if I can cook better than any of those places? Neat. But you probably can't you just think you are edgy because you poached an egg one time.

Bob Evans ain't what it used to be, but I still like it better than the other places I've been to on the list. I used to like Cracker Barrel, too, but not too much lately.

I voted Waffle House because it's the only one of these options I frequent (and even then, maybe 1-2 times per year). I've had Cracker Barrel a few times and it's usually good but the wait and the service almost always suck. Bob Evans used to be a favorite for their breakfast buffet but it's been at least a decade since I've been there.

The best breakfast I've ever had was this potato hash dish from a little place in Arrowtown, New Zealand. I'd never before considered putting green beans in a breakfast dish, but it was incredibly good and now I make a version of this recipe on most Saturday mornings.

Sunny Street Cafe is an amazing local chain. When we can't or don't want to go that far down the street though, IHOP meets minimum requirements. Perkins would win too, but there's only one in the area and it's a bigger hike from our place. (Side note: They have amazing chicken noodle soup though, so sometimes as a treat the hike is worth it.)

I wouldn't go that far, but definitely the vast majority are dis-wow-ening.

You know what, if we ever met in person, let's just do coffee, and not try to eat together.

:iatp:

My usual "breakfast food" place is home, or the hotel I'm staying in. And I'll look for a generic local diner over any of the chains listed above. But breakfast food rocks.
