I've worked in 2 consulting firms. WFH was not really encouraged, at least below manager level. We're only allowed if there's a reason (delivery, not feeling well, etc).

Same here. It would be great to be paid more (I'm on the low end of the DWS scale) but there aren't that many actuarial opportunities where I am. OH earns well, but it's still not enough us...

I didn't truly understand probability till university, when we started from first principles. I found it pretty hard at school, particularly figuring out when I should multiply probabilities vs add.

Separate accounts and CCs, his goes towards rent, bills, groceries, mine goes towards fun (dinners out, concerts etc) and mostly savings, in particular our down payment. Works well for us.

OP, go for it, it'll be a great experience. I was in a similar situation, but still managed to find a job afterwards. Only difference was that I had finished my exams at that point.

Agreed. The company also posted an intermediate analyst job, so I guess I'll give that a shot. It's the "2+ years P&C experience" requirement which worried me a little.
