My 2 cents: cinematography wasn't the best (someone needed to turn up the lighting on a bunch of shots) but I think the bulk of the backlash was leftover resentment from TLJ.

I would agree with you completely if TLJ ended...

I would agree with you completely if TLJ ended about half an hour earlier -- say after Snoke dies and Kylo and Rey are having their heart to heart. As it stands, we end the movie with bad guys (Kylo)...

Hardware aside, I find it hard to recommend chromebooks to un-tech-savvy folks. It's just too far a departure from a mainstream OS and at some point they'll probably want to install software.
