The actuarial salaries seem reasonable to me, neither high or low. Data science salaries are definitely low. Boston and Seattle are not cheap.

I also vouch for leaflet. It is widely used. When I went to the CAS annual conference last month I was pleased/surprised to learn that the LA public transportation web site uses it.

From personal experience, it depends on the income level. Perhaps if you make less than 100k - 120k CHF this is right. But more than that amount and you'll be paying any tax savings to the IRS.

I roast using a hot air popcorn popper that I got from a thrift store. Tastes great. Other cheap options are a Whirley Pop or simply a cooking pan. But you don't get much control with these methods.
