Being an ASA is a joke compared to being an ACAS imo.
ACAS = 7 exams plus 2 mini exams (OC1&2)
ASA (was) = 5 exams + modules with MLC being the only real hurdle.

I would say Actex is only helpful if you have a great understanding of the material already from work.

I personally don't recommend using it to learn as you will miss out on the core...
