60-90 usually...with about 2/3 requiring response. My manager had me copy him on everything for a while (making a case for more resources on our team). That quickly changed, haha

Actually that sounds like very rational anger and bad management. The manager should have asked for the planned study days out in advance and allotted them appropriately for less overlap!
