It's probably beyond debate that the SOA's establishment of the General Insurance track (even by itself, notwithstanding other actions) did tremendous damage to the SOA's relationship with the CAS. It appears that the SOA and the CAS may be moving closer together again, as hostilities lessen. I wonder which objective the SOA values more: (1) maintaining its (clearly struggling) GI track or (2) restoring a good working relationship with the CAS? Maybe Tom can answer that question if he is elected. The two objectives seem to be nearly incompatible with each other.
