While I agree with the sentiment, I can't see why a professional organization, especially an international one, would be spending its time on this. I've written letters, but as a non-resident of NC, I don't expect much.

Perhaps the magnitude of a civil rights problem does deserve this level of action, but in general, I would prefer the SOA stay out of non-actuarial politics (and/or let the AAA handle domestic actuarial politics), because sooner or later, I will strongly disagree with something they say, and then I will feel misrepresented.
