Default a qustion about the exam result

I took the exam P on this afternoon and the computer said I passed it. Is there any chance the result would be changed by SOA? Thanks for any reply!

I've seen Bruce Schobel, the current SOA President, say that he is unaware of anyone whose official result differed from the preliminary result.

i heard there was one (I think literally 1) false positive, and it was very early in the instant feedback, and the cause of the misinformation was figured out.

is it possible? yes. is it likely-very much not.

congratulations. I think you passed, and I am 99.999999% sure.

I think you are recalling a different situation. In the first administration of Course P, before there was instant feedback at all, there was miscommunication between the SOA and the testing company, so that two candidate's results were mismatched with their names. One was mailed a result that he failed, even though he was extremely confident that he had passed. Upon his inquiry and investigation, it was learned that he had passed and that someone else, who had been told he passed (with a 10, as I recall) was told he failed (that person was disappointed but not too surprised, since he didn't think he could possibly have deserved a 10). Naturally the SOA and testing company instituted a lot more controls after that, and no further such incidents have been reported. Even in that situation, had instant feedback been available, both candidates would have gotten the proper instant result.

Default preliminary results

Do all CBT centers provide preliminary results? Do they give you a pass/fail result or # of questions correct/wrong?

I believe there have been two cases where the grading algorithm screwed up, but we are changing the algorithm, anyway. Don't worry about it!

They tell you pass or fail. That's all.
