Default # of resumes sent before 1st job

For those who found their first entry-level position on their own (without help from a recruiter or from on-campus interviews), how many resumes did you send out before you accepted your first job.

If internships count, I was able to get it after sending out only one resume.

I don't recall the specific number, but it was a lot.

I sent close to 100...I was a career changer (teacher). I don't know if my number is applicable since teachers are held with such little regard in today's society.

Don't jump down my throat and say they are. It’s the popular thing to say but it’s not the common thing to think or feel. People still hold the view that those who can't teach. And after my five years of experience in the profession I think the saying is true about 75% of the time.

I have 55 in my outbox. Had a long list so I would have sent more if I didn't get that first offer.

100+, I applied for a job in almost every state I could think of. what pissed me of though, was that after I got a job offer, I got callbacks for interviews in 4 different states.

Oh, and a lot of these were through the coporate websites. They work, but funny I never heard back from a lot of them

It was too long ago. And over a very long period.
