Has anyone ever had problems with one of their cats ruthlessly tearing chunks of fur out of another cat, with no real provocation on the second cat's part? Google only gives me the single cat case, and implies it's usually stress or some sort of bug. I'd rather not pay to go see a vet, though I will if it comes down to it.
I also expect a reef parody thread shortly. |

1. Younger male cat was fearful of older female cat. The younger male cat grew larger and would attack. Solution: Spray the attacker with water.
2. Take an adult cat from my MIL. It would attack the other two cats and prevent them from getting to the litter box. Solution: Give adult cat back to MIL. |

Would you like me to channel your angry cats thoughts via psychic-meditation?

I've had multiple-cat households all my life. The cats fight until they clearly establish the pecking order. Then things settle down. They don't do any real damage to each other.

This has been going on for at least four or five months now, at least, and often happens when we're not around to spray the offending cat. They've both pretty much grown up with each other, and are roughly three years old. It doesn't seem to be hurting the soon to be hairless cat, but it is very annoying to sit down at the kitchen table in the morning to find tufts of hair everywhere.

I totally misread the title of this thread, and was wondering what it was doing outside the reef.

Maybe you should shave your kitty.

When I was much younger, my mom and I had a younger female cat who would "nurse" on our older, male cat. Always gave me the hibbly-jibblies, but Mom was always, "Aw, how cute".
Doesn't help with your situation, but whattyagonnado? ![]() |
