Default job market outlook?

I remember the time around 2009 was pretty bad because of the market melt-down, now it almost feels like 2009 all over again, what do you guys think? One thing I've seen a lot is how tough it is to land an entry-level job these days, but for experenced positions it is still not affected much

The actuarial profession is going to die as we know it. Run fast and don't look back!!!

If you're seeking entry level actuarial currently, you might as well give up. Seriously. Choose another career, there isn't nor will there ever adequate demand no matter how many exams you've passed. If you reside in Canada, you ought to go one step further and kill yourself.

The days of passing 2 or 3 exams and being guaranteed a job are over. Heck, the days of having 4-6 exams passed or even being ASA/ACAS and finding an EL job are over.... and they were never even here! FCAS just graduating from Waterloo with 4.0 GPA? Forget about it.... no jobs for you, sorry.

Yes, I was being sarcastic but didn't want to take the time to make my post red font.

Outlook for EL actuarial is still pretty bad, but I'd say it's a lot better than most other EL markets.

But why would the actuarial profession die then, if that's the case? I thought that was only true for pensions.
