why does TIA say we need to add non-tabular discounts back in if the reserves come from sched p part 2? sched p part 2 is already gross of all discounts. can anyone clarify?

The video states that the Balance Sheet and part 2 reserves are both net, while part 1 is gross, so you don't need to make the adjustment for part 1, but you do for the B.S. and part 2. It's always good to state your assumption anyway that they are gross/net of the non-tabular and proceed.

Sch P part 2 is gross of non-tabular, therefore no need to add it to the RSV. I believe only sch p part 1 and the BS are net of non-tabular |

You are right.
I think schedule p part 1 is gross of non-tabular except the last two columns, where they take out the nontabular discount. However, I can't verify this since I haven't seen any AS that has non-tabular discount. |
