I have a longtime child support balance with a major baby momma which I always pay in full, on time.
A couple months ago, call it March, I misread the balance and underpaid the total balance by $30000. In April, my bill showed an interest charge of just over $3000. I thought, geez, that's about 120% even at simple interest, but whatev, I'm not gonna fret for $3000, maybe there is a flat sperm donation fee or something. I paid the full balance including overdue & interest. In May, my balance has another $3000 charge for interest. So I call the baby momma. She basically say, "since you had a balance since my previous cycle, I assumed you would have one this cycle. I see you are a good father sometimes, so I will waive the charge." I ask, "since I had no balance wouldn't this be reversed without my calling?" She says, "no it is a valid charge so it wouldn't be reversed in general." Isn't this illegal? Or do I need to rob a bank and try to pay off this balance (just may happen) |
