Default ASM Sample Exam 3

Just wanted to have your opinions on the level of difficulty of this particular exam. What do you think the passing score would be if this were the real thing?

I've heard these exams are hard. I've been avoiding them so as not to shake my confidence before the exam. Just like I did with the Ramanananaanananananthan exam for Course 3.... didn't touch it. Maybe I'll be brave and look at the ASM exams this weekend, but not under exam conditions. Have to admit, I've been disappointed with ASM. Heard great things... but compared with the other great manuals I've been using lately (Mahler for C4, ARCH/Mahler for C3) ASM was really lacking.

Check out this poll.

And this thread went downhill quick, but it might offer some insight. After the second ASM practice exam, I gave up.

I moved on to the Actex, did all 6 and I feel much better going into the home stretch.

I dont think the link to the thread came through...could you send it again please? The reason I asked was because I scored only a 20/40 and found the exam hard. Plus I freaked out in the middle of the exam. So I wanted to do a reality check and fidn out how the others are doing.

Thanks

20 out of 40 is fine. It's not great, but considering the difficulty of his practice exams (and the possibility of typos and errors which make the questions even more mind-numbing) you could consider that a passing score.

The problem is that you don't want to hope for a passing score. You can't leave your fate to luck (there's maybe a three question difference between a 5 and a 7)... If you could pass this exam (24/40), then you should have little to worry about.

How are you doing on the past actual exams? That's the 'real' test!

[As for the links, they worked just fine for me now, but if they still don't for you, just search the Course 4 forum for ASM exams, or go to the next page of this section - that's what I did - and look for the threads that discuss ASM practice exams, including the poll.]

thanks!! I'm ok on the past exams-get the passing score there too-but I guess they had 3-4 questions each which are now out of the syllabus. So I am keeping my fingers crossed-got to take the Nov 03 test-the last one remaining for me and am just keeping my fingers crossed on that one!
Plus I will be praying on the 12th!

I bought the ASM study note so the exams came with that. I dont think the exams are available for free on the site but one can buy them without buying the guide. You could check on the site though.

I thought the exams, particularly #3, were difficult. Part of that reason is Dr. Weishaus threw in problems on things that haven't been tested much, so I haven't focused on those topics. The exams cover a wide range of material and do a good job of testing the little things.

If you have the time at least do the problems, under exam conditions or not.

On a side note, they completely rocked my confidence. I have been doing old exams not under exam conditions but almost exclusively without notes and have been able to do most of the problems. I saved the ASM exams for exam conditions bc they were completely fresh. I sucked it up. (I have my excuses but it doesn't matter)

I would definitely put them on par with the past two spring exams.
