Default I REALLY hate snow!

I just needed to vent - I had to drive home from work in a snowstorm last night and my 30 minute commute took 5 hours! I thought I was going to lose my mind! Those of you who live in warm climates - this is the time that you should feel grateful.

I had to go through the same thing. Of course, in my case, I grew up in southwest Michigan; we got dumped on from Lake Michigan every week or so from October to May; so my normal reaction is "why are all these southerners (Indianapolis) whining about a few inches of snow"?

But Indy folk are much hardier than the New Englanders who had "storms of the century" in the late 90s that seemed (to me) like barely a flurry.

I do live in a warm climate where we get ice storms and its hilly here. Those are fun.

As for snow, I love it! I dearly miss the snow as I grew up in the cheese state and now live in the se where it rarely snows. Blizzards make me happy...when I don't have to drive far.

I can totally relate to your experience though as I used to live in Denver and had something similar happen there....on Valentines Day nonetheless (and it was going IN to work) that took over 3 hours to drive 10 miles.

On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, don't ever go to Myrtle Beach during "street bike week" which is Memorial Day weekend. I got to the outskirts of town this past Memorial Day weekend and it took me over 5 hours to get to my hotel from there.

That's why I moved back south. I do feel grateful for 68 degrees at 7 AM! Sorry though, your weather does suck. If it makes you feel any better, my mom is moving today (back south from NJ) and they have to load the truck in the snow.

Fortunately it's pretty slow in the office and I still have a few vacation days to kill this year so I can hibernate today.

That's just wrong in December unless you are on a tropical vacation.

You know what I hate? When the insurance office across the street gets a 2 hour delay this morning but we get nothing. Yeah, that's what I hate.

Also, the message on our inclement weather hotline was hilarious too... "Due to the inclement weather, all employees should report to the office at 8 AM".

No, I would have to say it is just right.

Coming from NY to Fl could have been the greatest decision of my life (many other peoples lives too). Who needs the cold, striking Subway workers, and cranky people?

Wink

I love cranky people, you can really light into someone and it is just part of normal business for everyone. Try that elsewhere and might end up in a fight or in jail or shot by a Air Marshall.
