And, of course, wat? is exactly right. Candidates who already have credit for the DMAC (pre-2008) will be asked to make a presentation based on their PD project, Course 7 or something else yet to be determined.

Obviously there are not many candidates in my situation but for someone who took course 7 back in 2005 (we had to delete all of our files from the seminar), and had PD credits from transition and EA exams (no Project), I am not sure what I would be able to present, nor why I would have to present.

(I took the EA exams during 2006 and cannot take CSP again until 2008 as it only offered once a year)

You'll find something. And it won't hurt a bit.

Same here, except my Course 7 was in 2006. There are probably a number of people at my December 2006 seminar that are in the same boat as I am. The only ones that aren't are the ones that already had credit for the FSA exams or managed to pass Course 8 and CSP in Nov. 2006 and May 2007.

We'll have to present on something. At this point, I'm more worried about getting through the FSA exams. That bridge will get crossed if I ever come to it.

I'm not really worried about making a presentation, I already presented about 3 times at my course 7 seminar, just not sure why I'd have to give another one. I'm more worried about having to do some silly make-work project. If we have credit for everything, why would we still have to present? Is this just a toastmasters session trying to help nervous actuaries get over their fear of public speaking? Is that really something the SOA should be concerned with? Why not have a large dinner at the FAC where candidates are judged on their table manners as well.

I actually found it shocking at my Course 7 Seminar how many people really did not know how to present. I guess it is just my school background and working in consulting that helped me develop those skills.

I agree 100%. A lot of people at my seminar absolutely refused to present. It's a problem, but I don't think it's a problem that will be fixed by making one presentation at the FAC. It takes a long time to overcome a fear of public speaking. I think improving public speaking is a personal skill that employers should be looking to improve in their employees, not the SOA trying to improve in their candidates.

I am in the same boat as some of you. I passed C7 in 2004 and then (as requested) deleted everything associated with my project. I had 40 PD credits from other exams, so I only had to do 10 credits by attending a seminar and doing a write-up about it. I only have Modules 1-5 left for my FSA. I will be doing the Interim Assessment for Modules 1-5, but I was told that we are not allowed to share it with anyone else.

My wife says my rear-end is nice, but I don't think others really want me to present on it, so I will pass on that one.
