Default Sportswriters are morans

an excerpt from an article summarizing the NL ROY voting...

"Making the voting even more bizarre, Cincinnati pitcher Edinson Volquez finished fourth with three second-place votes, despite being ineligible for the award because he was not officially a rookie."

And these same people help decide our college football champion

Probably the same writers who refuse to vote for Japanese rookies

And I don't think he received any votes for the CYA.

No, not when you only get 3 votes. Volquez wouldn't crack my top 3. It's just funny that he received votes for an award he wasn't eligible for, then got none for one which he was (and you could easily argue that he was as deserving of votes as Sabathia or certainly Dempster.)

I'm guessing the two writers from Cincinnati did that. Called "greasing the wheels" for future interviews and information.

Dempster was more worthy of votes than Volquez. Dempster was top 5, Volquez was top 10, but they were close.

Sabathia, yeah, that argument's been had.
