Default Time Series College Course

I am currently suffering from the college course (still a college student). Is the topic that hard or is it just that my professor can't teach? I'm opting for the latter.

I would rather take 2 SOA exams at the same time rather than taking this course all over again, which goes against the consensus that VEEs are supposed to be easier than the actual exams.

For those of you taking either the NEAS or the Actex version, are the courses hard? I am just researching this since I know a few friends who are interested in taking the college course, but I kind of want to tell them not to take it because the class is just not worth it (it's hard because the prof doesn't really teach anything).
