Ladies,
Imagine you're in your 20s and your beau will be popping the question. Do you want him to ask your father for his blessing before he proposes? Why/why not. Also, assume your father is alive and the kind of dad you always wanted, if necessary.

I answered a bit deceptively. I would ask my bride first, and after she accepted would be happy to ask her father for blessing. I wouldn't ask the father first, unless some sort of truly massive inheritance was at stake that is.

depends on the dad... if he is a jerk and doesn't like anybody, then probably not, but if he is a pretty cool guy then I would talk to him about it
unless you either have Asperger's or you just found out that your girlfriend hasn't seen her friend Flo in awhile, you probably have a pretty good idea of what the dad is going to say anyway... if it's yes then it might be nice to let him in on the surprise, if the answer is no then giraffe the old bastage and ask her just to piss him off ![]() either way I wouldn't be asking for his blessing , so it's more a question of whether I would give him a heads-up or not

I would want my bf to ask. Not that I really care, but I know that my dad does. I think my dad would be upset if he wasn't at least asked for his blessing.
