Default Christmas gadgets

Anyone get new Christmas gadgets? Feel free to use this thread for bragging or asking questions. I'm going to use a big of my Christmas winnings for a Kindle.

I don't expect anyone to actually know what this is, but...

Spoiler:

Got myself one of those.

No, but I'm intrigued, I'm not a triathlon guy, but do enjoy a yearly century or attempting it. So what is it?

I think it is an oval instead a circle. It helps give more mechanical advantage on the down (and up) stroke of your pedal stroke.

It's actually 2 things: A power meter + crank

I only got the Quarq installed, but I've had the crank for several months now.

The Quarq is a power meter that measures wattage, which is mostly a training tool. Some people use speed and heart rate to measure progress, but these vary a lot depending on wind, what you ate for breakfast, how much sleep you got, etc. Wattage gives you a "truer" measure of progress.

Ahow is right about the cranks, that's what they're advertised to do. They feel a lot different, but whether or not that's an improvement is harder to tell.

How's the Kindle?

The e-readers are very intriguing to me and I might want to get one maybe next Christmas. I'm hoping that ASM eventually puts their manuals in e-format - it would certainly beat lugging around a 7 lb. study manual to work every day.
