Difference between Investment Annuities and Deferred Annuities?

ACE manual says Investment Annuities are excluded from SNL for Deferred Annuities ... I thought they were the same thing , so what's the difference?

I work in the field. Never heard of investment annuities. Maybe investment annuities don't include a death benefit or annuitization options and are thus excluded?

Usually the word "investment" in the context of P&F means a product that is designed to increase wealth but doesn't have an annuitization option. (Pg 632).

I think there is a big difference between Investment Annuities and Deferred Annuities. You can ask an expert about this.

I also work in the field....there are Immediate Annuities, Deferred Annuities, and Investment Products. Could "Investment Annuities" in the ACE manual be a typo?
