I ran through all the steps, it wasn't that bad once I got into it.

But then it wouldn't connect. I ran out of time, I'll try again tonight.

Went with a much simpler solution for end-to-end encryption. Since I have a web host that allows SSH connections, I used this as a guide:
http://lifehacker.com/5803880/how-to...-android-phone

and set up SSH tunneling using SSH Tunnel from the Android Marketplace. Just had to pop in a hostname, username, and password. Super easy.

Warning: May require root.

AWS data transfers in are now free. Transfers out are nearly free. This is big and really affirms my decision to use S3 as my mass storage system.

This is perfect for creating backups. Better yet, use it to make a back up of your backup. Further reduces the need to transfer out.

I don't think I'm paying anything for storage either because I'm in a promo period. I've only been billed for transfers in so far, but it really wasn't that much to begin with.

I'm using it primarily for photo backup.

Buy a Cloud Storage option - get unlimited music space on the cloud drive - for a limited time.

Judge rules that online music storage without label consent is ok.

Also, F the RIAA.

Google Drive just launched. I like Dropbox a lot, but I think they need to revamp their pricing for additional space.

You can get started with 5GB of storage for free—that’s enough to store the high-res photos of your trip to the Mt. Everest, scanned copies of your grandparents’ love letters or a career’s worth of business proposals, and still have space for the novel you’re working on. You can choose to upgrade to 25GB for $2.49/month, 100GB for $4.99/month or even 1TB for $49.99/month. When you upgrade to a paid account, your Gmail account storage will also expand to 25GB.

I'd be afraid if I was Dropbox, and even Evernote. And then this from the blog post:

I didn't see this coming. Looks like they're using Drive to turn Chrome into a virtual computer with server side applications.
