Lacking of experience!!

Hello guys I am a actuaial student in Canada, I know that I am totally lacking of working experience. Therefore, I am planing to work at some volunteer jobs such as library or hospital( The reason I choose library and hospital is that they are usually well organized unit) before I apply to a actuarial job after I graduate. Do you guys think it would help? Any other suggestion?
