Now that the May sitting is over, I’m pleased to belatedly announce that a new version of the TIA 1/P seminar became available last month. The seminar was revised to take advantage of improvements in technology over the last 5 years, such as:
- Higher quality audio and higher resolution video.
- New calculator tips to take advantage of some powerful features of the TI-30XS MultiView. The data mode on the MultiView is almost a miniature spreadsheet, letting you define one column as a function of another, and can solve some complicated discrete probability problems for you.
We have also improved the content by redesigning the calculus review to be better integrated with the rest of the probability material and by having twice as many end of chapter practice problems as the original seminar, all with both detailed typed and video solutions. Between the end of chapter problems, calculus review, and practice exam the seminar now has over 850 practice problems.
Our seminar was the first online video seminar for exam 1/P, and in threads comparing online seminars has been referred to as the “gold standard” of online seminars, a status that we are trying to maintain. For example, it is currently the only video seminar that advertises either a calculus review or the TI-30XS MultiView demonstrations.
