Sure enough, I completed the half marathon on Sunday (my birthday!). I did actually complete it, had no band problems. THe problem was that recovering from my previous injury screwed up my training and I wasn't as fit as I needed to be to do it in a decent time. I finished, but I was like #9000 and change (and I'm not even kidding, I was like 9000th place out of a lot of people ).

I gotta say, marathon and running events are way more fun than cycling events. The event on Sunday was all party, all the time.
