What´s up guys,
I graduated in the Spring of 2006. We were a class of about 25 people in FSU's Actuarial Science Program and it was awesome. Worked as an actuarial analyst for an insurance company, then as an actuarial manager for another and now currently working in the Statistical Modeling and Managerial Information Systems Department of the Panama Canal Authority. Yes, FSU's Actuarial Science program is heavily geared towards exam preparation (which is cool in a way).. They should include more applied stuff though.. Because most of the real math and concepts (that you actually apply in real world situations) you get once you pass fourth exam +. More professional seminars that complement the theoretical part would help a lot. Go Noles!! Have a wonderful friday... Cheers!! |

Spring '12 graduate here. I will be working for Capital Health Plan in Tallahassee as a Financial Analyst (but it is actuarial work) for a while so I will definitely be a season ticket holder for the three major sports this year. We can really get a tailgate going. I would love for this forum to become a little more active.
