So, the NYC Board of Health went forward with this?

Forbes came out with an article yesterday, saying that this is a good idea.

In their article, they cite this portion size powerpoint. They seem to be implying that 20 years ago, the only sizes available were on the left hand side. With the exception of the terrible bagel slide (I've never seen a bagel look that pathetic), looks like to me that those sizes were available then and now. Perhaps more people today select option B than option A.

I used to drink a lot more soda 20 years ago than I do today. It was not common to get 85 calorie serving sizes, like the slide is picturing. That's a little less than 8 oz for most sodas.

I am not sure what this impacts though, 711 can still sell the Super Big Gulp from what I have read.

Can McDonalds, for example, still have 32oz cups for unsweetened ice tea or diet sodas? Or are they prohibited from even stocking that sized cup?

Restaurants like Mcdonalds cant give more than 16oz for soda but 711 can. Silly.

I think what's a medium and what is a large has shifted upwards. 32 oz used to be supersize - now it's large and supersize is 44 oz.
The bagel graphic is definitely fictitious though. They're comparing a no-brand freezer bagel to a fresh bakery bagel.
