So I've been thinking about getting a SGSIII but now that Jelly Bean is about to be announced, and knowing how long it takes Samsung and AT&T to put out updates, I'm considering buying a Galaxy Nexus straight from Google.

The Galaxy Nexus doesn't have an 8MP camera, SD slot, or LTE, but it is first in line for any Android updates and could be purchased fairly reasonably without a contract. On the other hand, perhaps Google is ready to announce the next Nexus device...

In the end I'll probably do nothing and stick with my aging Captivate. But a guy can dream, can't he?

No SD was a dealbreaker. No ICS hasn't been too bad. Flashing is fun.

I got my Bionic back from the warranty people. It's nice to have it working.

Someone leaked an official ICS ROM from Motorola. I have flashed it and I love it. It took some doing, especially to get flashed to Page Plus.

For those of you who don't know about it, I recommend AppExtractor over Titanium Backup. It scans your Nandroid backups and the free version allows you to restore 5 at a time.

Titanium Backup also does Nandroid app restores (in the Pro at least). 5 restores at a time would be nice vs the 1 at a time for TB free.

I've been running this ICS leak and I'm loving it. I don't know what it is, but it all seems smoother.

With my OG Evo, my battery usage during sleep was about 120mA on stock Sense, 80mA on CM7, and 50mA on ICS. Some huge leaps and bounds.

I think I'm going to switch over to CM9 on my Evo LTE tonight. Video recording and MMS are still broken, but I don't think that is a deal breaker for me.

Evo LTE is now S-off. Working on this right now. Perhaps CM9 to follow.

Another fun thing I just discovered: In Astro file browser, if you click on "Details" for a file, it tells you the md5 sum.
