Last night at my regular subway station, there were seven TSA agents, along with bomb sniffing dogs, doing random checks of people getting onto the train. Fortunately, they didn't stop me, but they held up and delayed a bunch of people, and I would say definitely fostered a climate of apprehension and diminished the commuting experience, to put it mildly. I didn't use that station this morning, but coworkers have told me they weren't there. Needless to say, I'm more than a little concerned. I think I'll use an alternate route for awhile, hoping they don't do this at all the stations. If that eventually happens, I'll have to consider driving, creating extra stress and costing about $10 a day more than train fare.

Not quite sure how to feel, other than sad and disheartened. Just thought I'd share.

Wait until you need to go through to get into the grocery store, mall, etc.
