Default Advice needed

Can some of the more experienced actuaries share me how to become a more productive actuary? Currently I am sitting for exams but I don't want to just be a good actuarial student, I want to be come a great actuary. Right now the tasks I work on are limited and pretty much things to keep me busy. I want to be included and be an active participant, not just an accessory.

Feel free to PM me your response.

Not sure what exam you are at, but you will get more assignment as your continue to stay in this career. Once you pass all exams (or almost all of them), your manager would keep you busy all the time. And if you still feel you are not working much, perhaps, it is time to find another company that can keep you busy.

at first i didnt have much to do, but in meetings i would volunteer to take on big projects, or extra work. i would also talk with other actuaries and if their workload was heavy, offer to take on new things.

2 years later, i get most of the new accounts, and alot of interesting projects.

Come up with time saving or accuracy improving ideas; implement them with or without asking (depending on what it is), present results to boss(es).

exactly that. if you show that you are willing to take on extra work and try new things, your name will come up when they want to bring in new people on projects.
