Studying for CSP (IL&A)

Default Most inactive forum

So CSP-ILA seems to be the most inactive and boring forum on AO.

Interestingly, ILA usually have the highest number of candidates each sitting.. no?

So how are your studies coming along? Following the past two exam sittings (which I couldn't sit for), I'm again pretty much behind the schedule this time. Not even completed 35% of the first go through of readings yet

Ha, ILA-DP was the same way, but the DP forum got crazy with drama about a week before and after the spring sitting this year.

I just finished the CSP material and I'm about to start memorizing problems and flashcards. Considering this is potentially my last exam (still don't have my DP result ), I'm not taking any chances. FSA exams are the final hurdle to the 6 figure salary at my company.

Why you gotta go and make all the rest of us feel bad about our progress! (Or I could use this for some motivation).

^ Or, at least I have told myself I am going to start reading today but it probably won't happen.

If I end up failing DP, I'll PM you my address so you can come hit me over the head with a shovel for wasting so much time

I also skimmed a lot of it (with the exception of the GAAP and reinsurance books). So, I'll have to go over the FV stuff in depth again to really understand it.

I've also found that CSP is like MLC and DP is like C. In other words, the syllabus for each is big, but CSP seems to build off itself better like MLC did. DP is a bunch of random products and topics all over the place.

I've been told this by a couple people as well which is good. DP never really went into depth in anything, just skirted around the main points with a plethora of lists to memorize.
