Examiner's Report
In the future in addition to solutions you will get an examiners report from the CAS. (They probably got the idea from the Institute of Actuaries who has been doing that for a long time.) I think this will be very useful to students, both those who took a given exam and those who are studying for the first time for a given exam. A definite step in the right direction by the CAS Exam Committee!
The CAS has included the Examiner's report with the solutions to the Spring 2012 exams.
Exam 8 should start with the release of the Fall 2012 exam solutions.
Keep in mind that as far as I know you can still get a copy of your exam, but not your answer sheets. This is the way it has been since at least the late 1970s when I started taking exams. (On a trial basis recently they tried giving some candidates copies of their responses.)
You continue to get released solutions to each question, something that was put in place when I was on the Exam Committee. (I do not remember exactly when, but I think it was the early 1990s when I was head of the Exam Committee but it could have been the very late 1980s. Of course back then there were still short answer questions on the later exams, for which you just got the letter solution.) The average usefulness of the published solutions has improved over the years in my opinion. A lot of work goes into putting these published solutions together.
The Exam Committee also released exams of actual papers from some exams, which has been useful.
