To me, the fact that they released the exam is their way of setting get used to it.

I still feel that MFE is easier. Though I say that because in my school, I went through MFE with the class and a review class in the same semester.

Who knows?

I'm just waiting to see the results from May, which I think will be a total train wreck.

Bumping this thread.

I am looking to crack either MLC or MFE this November... which do I have a better shot passing given 11 weeks to prepare?

Most likely the one with the shorter amount of material - MFE.

I studied for MFE around 2 months while doing an internship. I dont have the results but felt pretty good about my exam. My adapt level was 10 and I bought the subscription on the last week. Also, no prior knowledge of the material.

Thanks Stevie and Train, I appreciate the feedback. Steve, about how many hrs total did you put into studying over that 2 month span? I work full time now and just want to make sure I will have the adequate time to put into it.

Although we're just inside 3 months away, I managed to work full time and study for that exam in 3.5 months. I should note that I only got paid study time for the last 1.5 months (the first 2 months I was still working as an Underwriter so it was all on my own).

I started slowly, doing around 1-2 hours per evening (with 1-2 evenings not studying per week) and studied a bit more around 5-6 hours on week end days.

It took me 5 weeks to finish the ASM manual (reading all the lessons/doing all exercices)

Then I spent 2 weeks doing half the Actuarial Brew questions. On the 7th and last week of study, I bought a subscription from adapt and focused on that and the SOA 76.

On the last 3 weeks, I studied maybe 3-4 hours per evening week days and whole day week end.so around 7-8 hours. Overall I believe I spent a bit more than 200 but less than 250 hours. I also had 2 and half paid study days because im an intern.
