OK - I too learned how to unscramble the cube from the booklet.
However, i wouldn't call following the booklet instructions "solving" the cube. Which did you mean?

I used to like taking a solved cube, then repeatedly doing some algorithm to it, and finally undoing it, and watching it amazingly put itself back together again.
