That's a real thigh-slapper, because, in the real world, nobody has ever been asked to use a table other than the one that they usually use.

They won't be providing the ILT on the exam, but I suppose it's reasonable to assume a student has memorized the table, or knows how to reproduce it using Makeham, despite never having seen it or the underlying Makeham parameters.

And I'll bet they won't be using that exact problem on the exam either.

They intended to say to use the SULT and 5% interest rather than the ILT and 6% interest.

The oversights I mentioned below have been corrected in an update dated 10 July; the inadvertent use of the ILT in sample WA21 is being corrected.

LTAM sample questions have now been posted on the SoA website. As of this writing, there are at least a couple of errors remaining in the MC questions/solutions that I hope will be corrected as were a few in earlier drafts:

10.13 has the trivial error of using "Kevin" once when it should be "Kira".

The solution to S4.2 uses a reasonable method but unfortunately NOT the method described by Hardy in her study note in the required reading; this produces an answer different from what the study-note method would produce.

I've not checked the WA questions or solutions for errors.

Note that the sample questions make clear that candidates are expected to have memorized the formulas for the mean and variance of a LogNormal random variable---odd, since for C and now STAM these are provided in the tables. Oh well.

Go to the online LTAM syllabus, then click on Introductory Study Note, then scroll down to the links to the tables, sample questions, et cetera.

Exciting to see the people that got good news today on the Spring MLC thread. Definitely motivating! Started studying this week and about to finish up Survival models in the CA manual.

How's everyone else doing? Anyone else using the CA bundle?
