I set up a team at Folding@Home.

The team # is 246959.
The team name is Actuarial Outpost.
You don't need to join the team in order to contribute.

According to what I've read, they don't have a LOT of COVID-19 projects to work on...because it's very popular.

Right now, I have both WCG & F@H on my computer. I'm not sure how well they will interact.

On the https://client.foldingathome.org/ page they give you a choice of "Any disease", Alzheimer's, Cancer, Huntington's, or Parkinson's. I don't see anything specifically for COVID-19. Maybe it only pops up when they have units available for testing. I don't know. I have mine set on "Any disease". (edit: from my post below, I see that one needs to check "Any disease" in order to possibly get COVID-19 tasks.)

In the Windows task manager (ctrl+shift+esc), it will be under "FAHViewer".

Update...

I installed F@H on one of my pcs that didn't have any other distributed computing programs on it. It seems like it's running there.

---

Even though I've set up a "team" I don't at this time see any team reports or any such thing, so I'm not sure if there were be monthly points updates for F@H. (I'll continue them for WCG.)

I'm not sure what you mean by that. They don't need any more computing power for this virus because it's so popular that they already have enough?

Sort of...so many people have signed up for it that they're running out of little modules to send out to people.

They keep coming up with more modules & when those are released your computer might work on one of them.

Here's their thread on it: https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=32463

Ah, here it is "we’ve had such an enthusiastic response to our COVID-19 work that you will see some intermittent downtime as we sprint to setup more simulations"

6. How do I know that I'm working on COVID-19 related projects ?
If you're running a project that's listed here, you're fighting COVID-19 :
CPU : 14328 - 14329 - 14530 - 14531
GPU : 11741 to 11764

I'm in the midst of a dataset from project 14531, which is a COVID-19 set, according the the website!!!

ETA: I changed the run setting from Light to Medium.

I uninstalled WCG & looked at a bunch of other settings. I'm not sure if any of that was necessary or did any good, but I do know this: I'm now running F@H on this laptop.

There is some setting somewhere that increases the processor priority for F@H so that it doesn't get left behind by any other distributed computing, so it seems that it should "play nicely" even if WCG is still installed, but I'm not sure. I ran out of patience & expertise to figure it out.

Here it is: In the F@H configuration, in the Advanced tab, is the "Folding Core Priority" radio button of "Slightly higher. Use this if other distributed computing applications are stopping Folding@home from running."
