FTR, I am simply repeating, and I do not endorse her views.

"Karen" seems to be morphing into a weird catch-all, even when it's not limited to uppity entitled white women. One of my FB friends posted something about "Wear a mask, Karen", obviously in frustration at all the non-mask-wearing around here. Except from what I can tell, a noticeable majority of the non-mask-wearers are 40+ year old men.

I got called Karen for getting pissed at people for not social distancing. It's used too damn loosely to just mean person who annoys you in some way. that description didn't even make sense.

Maybe calling them Karen will shame them.

oh nice.

not sure why I felt about calling it. it was obviously gonna just be a taped recording and not a real person.

I have zero fb friends named Karen. I used to have 2, but they were both annoying as hell and I got them to unfriend me. not for the typical "Karen" reasons though.
I don't like it and know several Karens who aren't very keen on the new usage of their name as an insult. I think we should stop using it, but I don't think I can single-handedly bring that about.

I'm guessing that someone interpreted your " badass Karen" as laughing *with* the lady for being a badass rather than laughing *at* her for erroneously thinking that she was a badass when she was actually just a mean old jerk.
