I think it's pronounced "boot-i-en-i."
Anywho, on the home PC I get a message upon startup (but after Windows screen with the available user names) stating that this file does not exist. Question, with two paths: Is it supposed to exist? If so, how did it get corrupted or deleted? If not, why is this message trying to get me to find the file? I'm concerned as always with computer virii. Various firewalls and virus scanners render my PC practically useless. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

So, what do you make of this? Do I have the virus, and it's looking for bootini.exe, or will my searching for it (the dialogue box tells me to, but I haven't yet) activate it?
Regardless, thank you for the link. I'll try to download some anti-virus software to check for virii.

The correct English plural, btw, is "viruses." "Virii" is a false pluralization. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plural_of_virus
Another word that is commonly incorrectly pluralized is "octopus." The correct plural is "octopuses," not "octopi," because the root is Greek, not Latin. (Under the rules for Greek etymology, the plural should be "octopodes" but this form is not in common usage.)
