there is one empty table with two empty seats and a line to order food. jane and beth call the table and get in line for food. joe and bill sit their coats on the empty chairs and get in line. sarah removes the coats and sits down and her friend jill gets in line to order for both of them. jack is first out of the line with food and sits in the other empty chair at the table.

Jack gets the table. He actually has food to eat and was there before any of these others.

Definitely not Jack. Not in this society anyway. Would you actually do this Franchise? You buy your food and you have a right to sit at any table no matter who is sitting there as long as there is no food there.

She asked who had the right, not what I'd do. Of course I wouldn't sit at a table that was already occupied without asking permission from the person there first.

Perhaps Jack was alone and not wearing a jacket. How is he to have "staked" a claim to that table? He got to the establishment and got in line like he was supposed to.

And because he is a pathetic loser loner without friends, he suffers his well deserved fate and has to stand and eat. Maybe next time he will develop some social skills and bring a friend to save a table while he gets in line. But probably not.
