Before people knock it to hard, I know many people who left the U.S. and are thrilled about the decision.
I even know of an individual who happily turned in his passport after obtaining citizenship from another country. Ironically he is a CPA who never again has to file income taxes.

Well, many retirees move to places with cheaper housing to get more acreage. I suppose this is just another thingy to make retirement more affordable. And, from what I here, Zihuatanejo is a nice place to fix up a boat and chill.
