Default NEAS Fall 2009

Just thought I'd start a thread for any people enrolled in this for Fall 2009. I have a couple basic questions for anyone who previously took this:

1) I'm assuming this is completely self-paced, so I can take as much time (or as little) as I want to complete the assignments as long as I feel I'm prepared for the final exam. Is that correct?

2) What's the deal with homework? Can I do the homework and just mail it in all at once at the end? Or do I have to send it in piecemeal?

look at the website and you will find your answers. but generally students submit all their homework at the end of the course which is I think 3 weeks before the final exam. but neas recommend that you submit it 4 times. i am new so please double check.

From what I understand, you can pretty much send in the homework however you want. You don't even have to send it before the final.

While I'm here, I have an issue of my own. I am hoping to sign up for NEAS Corporate Finance this term, but I have been having more trouble than I expected finding a proctor for the exam on January 6th. (I don't currently work as an actuary. I know one FSA nearby, but she is not available.) So, is anyone here taking the exam in the San Francisco area? It would be really great if I could use your proctor. I'm currently working up the courage to actually start e-mailing strangers asking if they can help, but I'd like to try this first, since it's a bit less awkward if I can find someone who is already going to be proctoring anyway.

Anyone sit for this exam today? Everyone took it at the same time, so I'd imagine we're "allowed" to discuss now.

I did. Wasn't bad. I finished a half hour early and only a couple were confusing to me (I looked at my notes after and I got them right). Definitely passed.

Yeah, it wasn't bad at all. Considering I started looking at the material a week ago, I'm pretty confident that I passed.

Anyone interested in a PAK?

I compared my answers to the ones posted above and we share 40/50 of the answers. Some of the ones where we differed were ones I definitely guessed at, and I think a few of mine were correct, so we probably split of the other 10. Assuming most of the 40 were correct, we're probably in good shape.
