This thread is devoted to discussion of the Survivor 4 “Back to the Beach” CBS Show and a special WC Survivor Contest. The contest will be run similar to the Survivor 2 & 3 contest. Each week the contestants will be asked to make a number of selections including Who will get Booted and Who Will Be the Ultimate Survivor. Points will be awarded accordingly. This contest will run simultaneously on the WC and the RF.
The Olympics are over – the fourth Survivor series on CBS is set to debut Feb. 28. The 16 players stranded on the Island of Niku Hiva in the MARQUESAS ISLANDS are: MARAAMU TRIBE: • GINA Crews, 28, Single, Nature guide, Gainsville, Fla. • HUNTER Ellis, 33, Single, Fed-Ex Pilot, La Jolla, CA. • PATRICIA Jackson, 49, Married, Truck Assembler, Lugoff, SC. • PETER Harkey, 45, Male, Bowling Alley Owner, Mills, MA. • ROB Marino, 26, Single, Construction Worker, Canton, MA. • SARAH Jones, 24, Single, Acct Manager, Newport Beach, CA. (Heard Major Babe!) Born in Juneau, Alaska. • SEAN Rector, 30, Single, Teacher, Harlem, NY. • VECEPIA Towery, 36, Engaged, Office Manager, Portland, OR. ROTU TRIBE • GABRIEL Cade, 23, Single, Bartender, Celo, NC. • JOHN Carroll, 36, Single, Registered Nurse, Omaha, NE. • KATHY Vavrick-O’Brien, 47, Divorced, Real Estate Agent, Burlington, VT. • NELEH Dennis, 21, Single, Student, Layton, UT. (Neleh? – Helen spelled backwards, she was named after her Grandmother Helen. My Uncle did the same thing with his first son, but his Grandfather was named Bob, and it was years before we made the connection.) • PASCHAL English, 57, Married, Judge, Thomaston, GA. • ROBERT DeCanio, 38, Single, Limo Driver, Queens, NY. • TAMMY Leitner, 29, Engaged, Crime Reporter, Mesa, AZ. • ZOE Zanidakis, 35, Single, Fishing Boat Captain, Monhegan Island, ME. For Week 1: BOOTEE PICK: Make a Bootee pick from each tribe, since we do not know which tribe will be going to Tribal Council. You will be awarded 8 points ( since odds are 1 out of 8 ) if you are correct. If you are incorrect you get assessed a -1 point penalty. PICK TO WIN IT ALL: Each week you will make a pick, you can change to a new contestant in future picks. The first weeks pick is worth 16 points, and will be based on the number of contestants left. You will be penalized for your Picks To Win It All as follows: -2 points if your pick does not make the Final 9 Jury; -1 point if your pick makes the Final 9 Jury, but fails to make the Final 4; no penalty if your pick makes the Final 4 but does not win. There is also a -3 point penalty if your Pick To Win It All gets booted in the week you pick them to Win It All. Other contests will be added as they seem relevant. PRIZES: 100,000 in WC Bucks or 250,000 in RF Bucks, or whatever the current exchange rate is at the end of the show. Having the best Week-Week Picks, in other words not counting the cumulative points for the Picks to Win It All, will get half the winners prize. Survivor 2 The Outback Champion: CYNICAL REALIST 76 points, (2nd BIG D 56 pts, 3rd DRACO MALFOY 55 pts) Survivor 3 Africa Champion: BAMA 120 points, (2nd - MRS NESBIT 114 pts, 3rd – EPONINE 72 pts) SO YOU'RE LIKE AN AGENT - SHOOTING THE MOON AWARD: If you get in the contest from Week 1, and miss every possible pick, you will have 150 points added to your score at the end. I added 50 points to the prize, since nobody got it last time. Other suggestions are welcome and will be considered. Do not edit posts of your picks on the day of the show. You can make your picks early and change them up until show time on the East Coast. DO NOT EDIT YOUR PICKS POSTS ON THE DAY OF THE SHOW – Since edits are not time stamped. [ This Message was edited by: Cynical Realist on 2002-02-25 09:19 ] |
