I won't deny that Duke's a great school... one of the tops in the country. But c'mon, a 40% mens' basketball graduation rate according to the latest NCAA study? Seems like a major disconnect between Duke the school and Duke the basketball team.

All I know is Allen Iverson went to Georgetown, so I wouldn't be comparing any school's overall academics to their basketball team's intelligence, knowledge and class.

They must need to be large, or to be universities (though some on the list only have college in the name). It's inconceivable that Davidson would not be on a list a good schools, and I would be amazed if Bucknell is not better academically than many of those listed. I mentioned those two since they were in the NCAA tournament; there are many, many other examples of extremely good schools omitted: Williams, Swarthmore,...

It looks like the U.S News University rankings. They have a separate rankings for liberal arts colleges (where Williams, Amherst, Swathmore, Bucknell, etc would fall)

And people wonder why Duke is despised. It's not their ranking. It's not that their (basketball) team is consistently ranked. It's not even that the team gets all the calls. It's the farkin' arrogance.

Tober, check out the cost of the alma mater, man. It's like 5 times what I was paying when I graduated, and I ain't all that old.

No, most of us would have placed out of that one. Maybe at Con-U, with "Living on a Budget While Earning Minimum Wage 101" as a prerequisite.
