Default Mercury's transit of the Sun

Anyone checking this out, like, right now (or earlier, for you already-sunsetted folks)?

I'm gonna get me a piece of paper with a pinhole in it, and go outside.

I know I think Las Vegas is the center of the planet, but I didn't know others did also.

Why the red star over vegas? Is that the strip?

Try not to kill your fifth grade teacher while you're out there.

They also lack the proper resolution to view the tiny disk of Mercury. But there's another projection method that uses a pair of binoculars. Binoculars with 7x magnification will work fine. Higher magnification will give you a better image, but it will be a bit harder to find the sun. Remember, which ever method you use, Mercury will appear as a very tiny black dot on the disc of the sun.

Is that it? That little thing that looks like a period? Is Mercury in transit across your post?

I think that Griffith Observatory has a cool image of the sun live and projected onto a flat surface. You can see spots and flares on it.
